Through a series of self-portraits, Dark on Delancey takes a penetrating look at identity. What is at our center? How do transformation and the eternal play out, inside of us? Where does identity intersect with ego, move beyond it? Eric Triton uses saturated color to suffuse a visceral rawness. Somewhere between conceptual, organic and performance, his photographs explore all sides and linger between the parts that struggle amongst themselves. Triton takes his inspiration from creation stories and mythology as he chews on the mysteries and paradoxes of existence. He draws from the stuff of life: love, ego, death, sex and fear, to make a photographic scripture, to find and create meaning. These are the most real.
